The PATHS Lab is a developmental and clinical science research lab at American University focused on understanding how parent–child interactions shape children’s emotional and behavioral development from infancy through adolescence.

We are dedicated to serving families in the Washington, DC metro area by collaborating with community partners to increase representation in research and expand access to child and family mental health services for communities with limited access.

We specialize in evidence-based parenting programs to help families of young children (from infants to preschoolers) who experience emotional and behavioral difficulties including anxiety, ADHD, behavior problems, and more.
